Founded by Ed Templeton in 1993, Toy Machine has served as a platform for Templeton’s artistic vision and often satirical take on the world at large. With the exception of the brand’s ‘Monster’ logo, which was penned by renowned skateboarding artist Sean Cliver, the majority of Toy Machine boards have carried Tempster’s artwork and purveying his dark sense of humour through an assortment of characters.

Alongside the Toy Machine ‘Monster’, recurring characters such as the Turtle Boy (allegedly a cartoon caricature based on a young Andrew Reynolds) and one-eyed Pawns creatures recurring across the brand’s graphics often stuck in unfortunate and macabre situations.

Toy Machine’s current team includes 2010 Thrasher Magazine Skater of the Year Leo Romero alongside his fellow Emerica heavy hitters Collin Provost and Jeremy Leabres, the eternally smiling Daniel Lutheran, up-and-comers Axel Cruysberghs and Blake Carpenter alongside long time members Billy Marks and Matt Bennett.
