Founded in 1991 by Jim Thiebaud and Tommy Guerrero, Real Skateboards was the first skateboard brand born out of San Francisco’s DLX Distribution (home to Anti-Hero Skateboards, Krooked Skateboards, Thunder Trucks and Spitfire Wheels).

Believing that input from genuine skateboarders was lost within the industry, after departing Powell-Peralta, Thiebaud and Guerrero saw Real as an opportunity to run a board brand by skateboarders and for skateboarders.

Real Skateboards boasts one of the most respected teams there is with Dennis Busenitz, Ishod Wair, Chima Ferguson, Kyle Walker, Jake Donelly, Keith Hufnagel just a few of those proudly pushing Real wood.
